Information Marketing Podcast RSS link

An RSS link is a great way to spread your content around the web. With a rise in RSS blogs people will be able to take your link and feed it into their blog for automatic content.  I have added the information marketing podcast RSS link to an RSS feed so now you can subscribe to the podcast without having to subscribe to the whole blog (of course subscribing to the whole blog is still an option)

It also means if anyone wants to use my RSS feed (which you are welcome to) it saves them having to download individual audios and upload them to their own site. All they do is take the RSS feed, feed it into their blog using an RSS to WordPress plugin and every time I post they automatically generate a new post without having to do anything. They get automatic fresh content.

It is a great viral way to spread your content and you have to make sure you have a few things in place

1. Make sure you mention your blog url in all your audios

2. Include a link back to your blog in the description of each show and vary the link, don’t just link to the homepage link to specific blog posts too

3. Make sure your description is included in everything you create along with your content details so it is clear who owns the material

If you don’t know how to create an xml podcast file there are free tutorials around the web. I use Hipcast.com which is great for audio and video. I simply add my description and a podcast link like this one is generated.

There is a yearly cost but it isn’t huge at the time of writing this it was around $50 a year. The great thing is you can create as many podcast links on different topics as you like and you can also add video straight to your blog.

I am adding the audios to Hipcast now and you can see below what the xml file looks like. It creates a link to the audio and provides a short description.
